About.com - Civ-Evolution, or C-evo, is a non-commercial empire building game, dealing with the history of man from the antiquity until the future. This includes aspects of exploration and expansion, war and diplomacy, cultivation and pollution, industry and agriculture, research and administration.

Wikipedia - a free turn-based strategy computer game whose source code – written in Delphi – has been put in the public domain by Steffen Gerlach, its programmer and designer. Other people have contributed separately downloadable alternative artificial intelligences for C-evo. Likewise, some of the graphics in the game are of external origin, but all are freeware.
